Ian Cadwallader and Mosaic

Ian Cadwallader and Riverside Wines have been long time supporters of RealPeople @ Mosaic.

Having personally dealt with brain injury in relation to an accident his father had later in life, Ian became an avid supporter of the services and support provided for people with disabilities by RealPeople @ Mosaic.

Brainstorming ways to raise funds to aid Mosaic, Ian tossed about idea's to catch the media’s attention with an art project somehow related to the business of wine growing and producing he knew so well.

Wine boxes presented themselves as the perfect blank canvas for artists to create unique works of art and be auctioned to benefit RealPeople @ Mosaic.

Imagining that four or five artists would take up the challenge, Ian left it up to Mosaic Manager Terry McKenna to cajole artists into supporting the cause. The response was overwhelming. Twenty artists, including Mosaic students created artwork for the first Wine Box Auction that took place four years ago. The event was a huge success and has rapidly grown far beyond anything that Ian or anyone at Mosaic could have imagined.
