About RealPeople @ Mosaic

'We believe that disability doesn't matter, everyone can contribute
and take a valued role in their community'

RealPeople @ Mosaic, located in Taradale, Hawke’s Bay, is run by Presbyterian Support East Coast. Their primary focus is to provide a community based vocational service for people with disabilities.

A supportive atmosphere is provided with dedicated tutors and a holistic programme of courses ranging from literacy, to art based programmes.  Students develop practical and social skills to gain confidence, with the aim of becoming independent and valued members of their community.

RealPeople @ Mosaic point of difference is its strong focus on creative work.  For many students art is the equaliser and Mosaic's art gallery, specialises in Outsider or RAW art. It offers students the opportunity to exhibit as part of their Art Studio programme.

The gallery, which is open to the public, showcases the huge variety and talent that exists at RealPeople @ Mosaic and beyond, thus creating an opportunity for its artists to have a voice and a place in the world of art.

For many who come to RealPeople @ Mosaic, the often isolated world of disability is opened up through self-expression, choice and education. This is something that is acknowledged by the all the artists who rally to support the Winebox Auction.
